Lauderdale has an active School Council and Parent Advisory Council (PAC) that meets every 3rd Wednesday of each month starting at 6:00pm to discuss school activities, provide support to school initiatives and collaborate! Until further notice, all meeting will be held virually. Please check SchoolZone for our monthly link. Please join us at these monthly meetings as this is another avenue for enhancing school involvement and parent, community school partnerships which we know supports student success!

We know that life is busy; many of us cannot commit to participating in School Council and PAC, but please ensure your continued involvement by supporting your child’s learning at home.  School involvement takes many forms and the most vital is the support you provide by asking about their daily activities at school, read, read and reading together, checking their backpacks daily, checking and signing the AGENDA’s daily.  Every student has an AGENDA that have been purchased by our School Council/ PAC’s fundraising efforts.  Our AGENDA’s are another way to be in contact with the school and your child’s teacher and be aware of school activities.  We use AGENDA’s daily!

Lauderdale School works in collaboration with nineteen other schools through the North Central Catchment Schools (NCCS).  This work focuses on creating transition supports for all of our students in the North Central Catchment of Edmonton.  Our staff is working on building capacity around Universal Design for Learning to remove barriers encouraging student success, smooth transitions and increased high school completion rates.

Our full day kindergarten program is supported by Edmonton Public Schools Foundation.

Lauderdale School continues to develop community partnerships to enhance student opportunities and experiences through, our breakfast program, daily healthy snack for all, as we encourage a healthy active lifestyle and participation in extra-curricular activities.  

Our supporters for our free daily breakfast program, and daily healthy snack for all include Breakfast for Learning and FOOD for THOUGHT as well as. We also receive support through other private donations.

We strive to be a healthy active school and are involved in EVER ACTIVE SCHOOLS, AMA YOUTH RUN CLUB, 'NSTEP (Nutrition, Students, Teachers, Exercising with Parents) and Club MOO though Alberta Milk.

We are partnered with The BENT ARROW Society and run a weekly COYOTE PRIDE mentorship program.  

Lauderdale School was built in 1954 and is surrounded by a wonderfully large park, with 3 full soccer fields and a baseball diamond.  We are also nestled against Lauderdale Community Hall, separated by a playground, basketball court and hoops and a skating rink.  We continue to celebrate 60+ years of Lauderdale School every November, by tavelling back to the 50's for a fun educational experience known as our annual "Sock-Hop" Family Dance.  

At Lauderdale School, we maximize student achievement through high academic and behavioural expectations and a strong focus on teaching and learning.  Our students develop a strong sense of pride in their accomplishments.  They acquire the knowledge, skills and attitudes they need to be responsible and skilled participants in the community.  In a small school atmosphere, we offer a safe, caring environment where students and families feel a sense of belonging as a responsible, respectful and dedicated group of learners. We offer full day Kindergarten, and grade one to six programming in regular classroom settings. French as a Second Language is offered to students in division two.  An emphasis on music in all grades is encouraged.  We are also a district site for elementary students requiring a modified academic program.  As a staff we are focusing our efforts on Universal Design for Learning that will provide multiple means of representation, action and expression, and engagement for all students.  Using this focus we encourage our learners to be motivated, strategic, goal-oriented, resourceful and knowledgeable. Lauderdale is partnered with the Edmonton Public Schools Foundation and the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation to support our full day kindergarten program.
