    Parent Groups

Lauderdale has an active School Council that meets every 3rd Wednesday of each month starting at 6:00pm to discuss school activities, provide support to school initiatives and collaborate!

All meetings are held virtually via Google Meet. Everyone is welcome! You will need to be logged on to your school zone account or your child’s account to access the meeting.  If you are not logged in, you will have to be granted access to the meeting from a staff member. Please call the school if you have any questions. Hope to see you there!

Please check SchoolZone for our monthly link and be on the look out for a paper notice sent home. Please join us at these monthly meetings as this is another avenue for enhancing school involvement and parent, community school partnerships which we know supports student success!

We know that life is busy; many of us cannot commit to participating in School Council and PAC, but please ensure your continued involvement by supporting your child’s learning at home.  School involvement takes many forms and the most vital is the support you provide by asking about their daily activities at school, read, read and reading together, checking their backpacks daily, checking and signing the agenda daily.

    School Philosophy

At Lauderdale School, we maximize student achievement through high academic and behavioural expectations and a strong focus on teaching and learning.  Our students develop a strong sense of pride in their accomplishments.  They acquire the knowledge, skills and attitudes they need to be responsible and skilled participants in the community.  In a small school atmosphere, we offer a safe, caring environment where students and families feel a sense of belonging as a responsible, respectful and dedicated group of learners. We offer full day Kindergarten, and grade one to six programming in regular classroom settings. French as a Second Language is offered to students in division two.  An emphasis on music in all grades is encouraged.  We are also a district site for elementary students requiring a modified academic program.  As a staff we are focusing our efforts on Universal Design for Learning that will provide multiple means of representation, action and expression, and engagement for all students.  Using this focus we encourage our learners to be motivated, strategic, goal-oriented, resourceful and knowledgeable. Lauderdale is partnered with the Edmonton Public Schools Foundation and the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation to support our full day kindergarten program.

Welcome

Welcome to Lauderdale School!

We are a vibrant community school and fulfill an important role in our community.  As the future educational opportunities of students are linked to their elementary school experiences, our challenge is to develop a student's basic skills, a positive self-concept and to provide a set of experiences that will provide students an opportunity to achieve success. Lauderdale School values its volunteers and its relationships with community agencies.  Student growth is enhanced through these partnerships.  Parents and community members alike are encouraged to visit our school to see the wonderful learning that takes place in Lauderdale School.

Lauderdale School is full in planned classes in Full day Kindergarten in the Regular Program. Only a Kindergarten student who is a resident and lives in the school's attendance area may still register. A resident student of Edmonton Public Schools has at least one parent or legal guardian living in Edmonton who is not Roman Catholic. Non-resident students can enrol in another Division school with space in planned classes.

If you are registering for Kindergarten or if you are new to Edmonton Public Schools, you must register online.

Principal's Message

As the principal at Lauderdale school, I believe strongly in surrounding our students with support through strong partnerships with staff, parents and community agencies to assist our kids in reaching their highest potential. When the entire community continues to find ways to come together, we can be the foundational supports to urge our students forward in taking risk and experiencing academic and personal growth. I look forward to meeting all of you and encourage you to bring any questions or concerns to me. The number to reach me is 780-475-8737. I look forward to hearing your ideas and learning about the Lauderdale community.
