Instructional Focus

At Lauderdale we believe literacy and numeracy skills are keys to student success.  As such, we are continuing with our daily reading program at Lauderdale.  All our students are expected to read daily.  Division 1 students will be recording the number of books they read or that are read to them, while Division 2 students will be recording the number of minutes they read.  We track this classroom by classroom and celebrate our successes regularly at our monthly assemblies.

One of our major areas of focus at Lauderdale continues to be the use of technology to enhance student learning.  We have 3 mobile CHROMEBOOK labs (over 100 lap-top computers) available for all students to use within their daily instructional work.  All our students have access to Raz-Kids for literacy and Mathletics for numeracy skill development.  We use SchoolZone regularly and all the necessary day to day information items are posted to SchoolZone.  SchoolZone is accessible from your smartphones too!  If you do not have adequate access to technology, feel free to use our computer lab before or after school, when you drop off or pick up your children.
